Abstract

The construction work is work that is often done in the open spaces and exposed to direct sunlight for a long time so that it can cause health problems such as dehydration and fatigue which can affect the performance of workers while working. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between exposure to hot work climate with dehydration and work fatigue in the workforce at PT PP Urban rehabilitation project Legi Market, Surakarta City. This study used an analytic observational research with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 41 respondents. The statistical test used the Rank Spearman test. The results showed that most of the respondents experienced mild dehydration as much as 48.8% and as many as 73.2% experienced moderate fatigue. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant relationship between exposure to hot work climate and dehydration with a value (p = 0.000) with a strong relationship (r = 0.607) and the relationship between hot work climate and work fatigue also showed a significant relationship with value (p = 0.000) and the strength of the relationship is medium (r = 0.531). So it is necessary to further control the hot work climate so that health problems due to work such as dehydration and fatigue can be avoided by drinking 1-2 glasses of water / hour or drinking immediately when feeling thirsty, maximizing good rest time and eating foods. high calorie needs to meet the calorie needs of 200-350 cal / hour so that daily calorie needs are fulfilled.
