Abstract

CV. Buana Jaya is a metal casting industry located in Ceper Klaten. CV. The production process is done manually so that it can cause workers to suffer injuries. There are 9 activities in making garden chair products. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of risk of muscle injury and provide recommendations for improvements to minimize the risk of injury in the garden chair production process at CV. Buana Jaya. The methods used in this research are RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) and OWAS (Ovako Work Posture Analysis System). The results show that using the OWAS method there are 4 activities at a very low level, 4 activities at a low level, and 1 activity at a moderate level and no activity at a high level. While the results of the assessment of the risk level of injury using the RULA method, it is known that there are 4 activities at a low level, 1 activity at a moderate level, and 4 activities at a high level which indicate that immediate or immediate repair is needed. Proposals for improvements were made, among others, by making a foundation for a mold, using a metal smelting machine, and using metal pouring tools. From all the suggested improvements given, it can reduce the level of risk of injury in the production process at CV. Buana Jaya.
