Abstract
The film “Imperfect” (2019) is an Indonesian film that tells the story of the pressure in women's lives related to their body shape. The female body that is not in accordance with the developed standards will get pressure to adjust the existing standards.The purpose of this study is to determine the contents of the film and how the film represents women's bodies. This research uses descriptive qualitative research and analysis technique in this research is by using content analysis. The unit of analysis in this research is in the form of dialogue and pictures in the film. Samples studied were every scene in the film that involved the main character. The results of this study indicate that the film "Imperfect" shows the body of a woman who is regulated by the environment, thus posing a challenge to reach the standard that has been previously formed. Women who have attractive appearance are considered as someone who deserves to be in the public sphere to represent an institution. However, women who have the opposite appearance are presented as unworthy and unfit to be in the public sphere or to be the face of an institution.
