Abstract
Indonesia and the rest of the world are facing the Covid-19 pandemic, which involves learning to be implemented in individual students' homes. The online learning implementation involves the teacher's role in reinforcing the character of the school policies. Baturetno Wonogiri Public Elementary School 3 is a school that has implemented character education for students. Character education is The role of educators, especially teachers, is very important in strengthening the character of discipline in students, particularly in today's online learning, and is not used as a separate subject, but is incorporated into any learning process in the classroom. This research seeks to explain the function and constraints of teachers. In emphasizing the nature of discipline in the low school, teachers faced in strengthening the character of discipline in low grade students at Baturetno Wonogiri Public Elementary School 3 during online learning. Data collection methods used interviews with WhatsApp and Google form channels conducted with school principals, teachers and student parents, as well as observing several supporting documents. The methodology of data analysis uses the idea of Milles & Huberman, namely, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This analysis uses a qualitative method with a descriptive form. The data validity test used the technique of triangulation. Source data collection used mapping. The results of this study suggest that the teacher's position included promoting discipline for students, providing role models and leading students to appropriate behaviors, building cooperation with student parents, Giving praise and gold star emoticons, making online learning guidelines, performing disciplinary reviews Students. The challenges faced by students are the lack of information of disciplined students, the lack of smartphones, and the levels of personal assistance.
