Abstract
Landslides are disasters caused by natural and non-natural factors. The Dengkeng sub-watershed has a history of high landslides after the floods, causing harm to the community and the environment in the material and non-material fields. However, until now there have not been many studies that give a spatial explanation of distribute areas with potential landslide vulnerability with various classifications. This study aims to map the potential for landslide vulnerability using the Geographic Information System (GIS) method. The parameters used to decide the potential for landslide vulnerability is slope, land use, rainfall, and soil eligibility. The method used is tiered quantitative weighted using the available categories and weights for each parameter. This research has resulted in five (5) landslide vulnerability classes in the Dengkeng Sub-watershed. Namely, areas that are very prone to landslides, namely 1% of the total area of the Dengkeng Sub-watershed and its distribution is on the slopes of the Merapi volcano and in the southern part of the Dengkeng Sub-watershed area; the prone area has an area of 1% as well; quite prone areas have an area of 5%; Slightly prone areas have an area of 5% while areas that are not prone to landslides have an area of 78% and their distribution is located in the middle area of the Dengkeng Sub-watershed. The average distribution of landslide susceptibility that has the potential for landslides is located in the southern part of the sub-watershed and the northern part of the sub-watershed. Overlay in the Geographic Information System (GIS) makes it easier to process parameters to obtain landslide vulnerability level results. Landslide vulnerability map of Dengkeng Sub-watershed serves to determine the spread of landslide vulnerability.
