Abstract

High blood pressure (hypertension) can increase the risk of complications such as stroke, coronary heart disease and kidney failure, vision problems. Complications that occur in hypertensive patients are due to the low public knowledge of hypertension. One aspect of knowledge that is not understood by society is physical activity. This study aims to determine the description of the level of knowledge and physical activity of people with hypertension with complications in the working area of Puskesmas Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all hypertensive patients with complications in the work area of Puskesmas Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency with a total population of 53 respondents. The sample in this study amounted to 53 respondents who were processed using the total sampling technique. Measuring tools with a knowledge level questionnaire and GPPAQ (General Practice Physical Activity Questionnaire) questionnaire and analysis of research data using descriptive analysis. The results of the research on the level of knowledge of people with hypertension with complications showed that 17.0% or 9 people had a good level of knowledge, 35.8% or 19 people had a sufficient level of knowledge, and 47.2% or 25 people had a low level of knowledge. While the results of physical activity of people with hypertension with complications were 13.2% or 7 people had active physical activity, 26.4% or 14 people had physical activity that was quite active, 52.8% or 28 people had less active physical activity, and 7, 5% or 4 people have inactive physical activity.
