Abstract

The Technological developments today are very easy to obtain, from low prices to high prices. One example of a technology that is well known in Indonesia is a gadget. The spread and use of gadgets has been circulating among all ages from early childhood to adulthood. Lack of understanding of the perception as a parent to pay attention to their children when using gadgets and seem to let their children play gadgets. Based on this background, the purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions of parents towards the use of gadgets in pre-school age children at the Al-Ikhlas Integrated Islamic Kindergarten, Boyolali. This research is a quantitative research using descriptive method. The population in this study were the parents of the students of the Integrated Islamic Kindergarten Al-Ikhlas Boyolali and the total sample was 54 respondents with a sampling technique, namely accidental sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire and the analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the parents of preschool aged children in the Integrated Islamic Kindergarten Al-Ikhlas Boyolali are mostly fathers aged 31-40 years, have high school education, work as laborers, and have an income of 1.5 - 3 million. Furthermore, the characteristics of mothers are mostly 20-30 years old, have junior high school education and are housewives. Parents' perceptions of the use of gadgets for preschool children at the Al-Ikhlas Islamic Integrated Kindergarten, Boyolali are mostly good. Parents' perceptions of the impact of pre-school pre-school age children's gadgets at Al-Ikhlas Boyolali Integrated Islamic Kindergarten are good.
