Abstract

BMT is included in the category of informal, non-bank microfinance institutions, because the existence of BMTs does not require formal legitimacy from Bank Indonesia as well as an integrated independent business center which is bayt al-mal wa at-tamwil, namely institutions that develop productive businesses and invest in improving the quality of small business entrepreneurs and encouraging forms of investment with the aim of empowering worldly and ukhrawi businesses through donations, zakat, alms The formulation of the problem in this thesis is as follows: 1) Analyze the factors that cause default that occurs in the murabahah contract at BMT Iftikhar Wangen. 2) Analyzing strategies for handling cases of default that occurred in the Murabahah contract at BMT Iftikhar Wangen The results showed that BMT Iftikhar already had a default settlement procedure on financing (murabahah) at BMT Iftikhar Wangen. And BMT Iftikhar Wangen in handling problematic financing on the murabahah contract has implemented the Islamic concept or Sharia principles and DSN-MUI fatwas
