Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) student characteristics in utilizing teacher room media, 2) student characteristics in capturing learning material through room media, and 3) characteristics of students choosing friends to study economics that are taught online through teacher room media. This type of research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. The research resource persons were 5 grade XI high school students in the Kauman sub-district, Nganjuk Regency, as many as 5 respondents. The data analysis technique used the triangulation method. The results showed that: 1) The characteristics of the students used ruangguru media as a support for economic learning with a positive response. Students regularly follow the Ruangguru media learning schedule. The appearance of the ruangguru is shorter, appropriate with interesting animation, makes students not bored, and is very flexible in time and place; 2) The characteristics of students in capturing learning material through the teacher room media include the motivation of students who routinely follow the Ruangguru learning schedule, sharing between students and tutors so that this indicates that students really pay attention to the learning delivered in the Ruangguru media, and students are always served a lot practice answering and working on practice questions so that it will train students' brain sharpening and will have an impact on fluency in the work of subsequent learning questions; and 3) Characteristics of class XI students in choosing friends in online economic learning through the teacher room media. The correct and directed use of social media can make the learning process easier for students. The teacher room media is equipped with a chat feature that encourages users to add friendships. Ruangguru online learning users can interact with staff and teachers in discussing learning materials that are not yet understood.
