Abstract
Head lice (Pediculosis capitis) is one of the most common diseases found in children around the world. Pediculosis capitis is caused by infestation of Pediculus humanus var. capitis on the head. The main complaint of sufferers is itching and the risk of secondary infection which can affect learning performance and cognitive function in children. The speed of transmission of Pediculosis capitis is caused by several factors that influence it. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for the incidence of Pediculosis capitis. This research was conducted by using the literature review method. The selected literature is in the form of publication journals sourced from Google scholar, PubMed, and SINTA. Statistical test for bivariate analysis using chi-square. The dependent variable in all articles is about the incidence of Pediculosis capitis, while the independent variable is the risk factors for Pediculosis capitis. The conclusion of this study is that the risk factors for the incidence of Pediculosis capitis are personal hygiene and knowledge. This is based on the bivariate analysis in the 5 articles, where the personal hygiene factor is evidenced by the value of p = 0.001 and the factor of knowledge with a value of p = 0.001. So that as a preventive measure for Pediculosis capitis, it is necessary to increase knowledge and quality of personal hygiene by changing attitudes in each individual, especially children.
