Abstract

This study aims to describe about the use of Ruangguru media application as an online learning for excellent students of SMA N 1 Baturetno. This researchis qualitative with an ethnographic approach. The data collection methods used for this study were observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. The validity of this research data is triangulation. The results showed that: 1) The use of Ruangguru media application is an online-based distance learningculture by utilizingapplication Ruangguru as a source of conveying subject matter to the students with distance learning characteristic namely, open minded, independent, complete learning, using information and communication technology, other educational or learning technologies integrated colleges. 2) The learning materials in Ruangguru media application is very complete due to it starts frommaterial from Elementary School until materials to preparation for university, with display a material in the form of videos and lots of practice question. 3) The stages in the use of Ruangguru media application are planning, implementation, and evaluation.
