Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Determine the process of developing seventh grade junior high school textbooks on the material of Indonesia's climate conditions. (2) Knowing the feasibility level of textbooks that have been developed through a feasibility test. Researchers in conducting this research used a type of research and development (R & D) which adopted the Borg and Gall model that was modified by the researcher. This research was limited from the data collection stage, the needs test, and the feasibility test of book development. The results showed that 1) the coursebook development process carried out by the researcher included (a) the researcher conducted a needs test on the teacher and collected data from journals related to the material to be developed (b) the researcher made an initial product planning design based on the test. the need for teachers (c) researchers compile material based on references from material and journals (d) initial product trials developed are consulted with material experts and media experts (e) book product improvement is carried out based on evaluation results from material experts and media experts (f) testing the feasibility of books to teachers, material experts, and media experts. 2) the second research objective is the results to determine the feasibility level of book development carried out, the results of the feasibility of developing a book with the title "Significance of Indonesian Climate and Flood Disaster as the basis for Flood Disaster Knowledge" as follows: assessment by the teacher obtained a percentage of 96% or very feasible, the assessment by material experts get a percentage of 88% or very feasible, assessment by media experts get a percentage of 79% or very feasible. Based on the average assessment, the textbook development product at SMP N 6 Surakarta obtained an average percentage of 87% and is said to be very suitable for use as a textbook.
