Abstract

Increased demand for electricity is increasing along with the increase of industrial, office, and locals. However, this increase in demand is not proportional to the supply of sources of electrical energy itself. Coal is now becoming one of the energy sources was already on the wane, while coal is a fossil fuel that require certain conditions for its formation, and occurs at a certain age anyway. Indonesia is located in the tropics actually receive enough sunlight sustainable, but left wasted. Of these problems can be overcome with the use of solar panels. Solar panels are one of the renewable energies that can be used as alternative energy, which uses sunlight as the main energy source. The use of solar panels as a source of electrical energy is also one friendly alternative energy for natural, clean and non-polluting. The main objective of this research is to determine the efficiency level of solar cell utilization on electricity consumption. The research method is to measure the electrical energy produced every day, measure the supply of electrical energy consumed by the load every day and measure the total consumption of electrical energy every day. The equipment used is 6 panels, which are arranged in 2 series and 3 parallel. The circuit panel is then connected to the SCC. The voltage of the panel will be saved into the 2 batteries arranged in series, with each batteries have a capacity of 12 V. Then the DC voltage that flows will go to the off grid inverter to be converted into AC voltage. This circuit is then connected to the LVD which is also connected to the PLN system. The results of this study found that using solar panels can help meet 1.22 KWh of the total 6.55 KWh of electricity use, from these results it can save costs of Rp. 52,876.02 per month.
