Abstract
The competition in the industrial world is getting tighter, forcing producers to be more observant in taking advantage of opportunities and creatively in making products to be accepted by consumers, and able to compete with competitors. One type of product that requires product innovation is a handicraft or merchandising and vandel manufacturer. By developing designs and utilizing good raw materials and technology, it is certainly possible to support and make it easier for craft producers to innovate to bring up new products that are of interest to the community. With the application of Value Engineering, it is possible to present an alternative design of vandel merchandise that is unique, distinctive and in accordance with consumer interests, where from the results of this application an alternative vandel design made from acrylic with a thickness of 5mm is obtained, by making motifs using engraved techniques and led lights. These vandel products can be used as typical merchandise for the UMS Industrial Engineering department by utilizing a Laser Engrave Cutting machine located in the creative industry studio of UMS industrial engineering department.
