Abstract
Purpose of this study is to discribe student’s reflective thinking ability in problem solved same as Program for International Student Assesment (PISA) applied quantity content on number series matter with reference indicators based on Surbeck, Han & Moyer. This research is a qualitative descriptive study involving 25 students of class VIII C SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Mojogedang. Data collection techniques through observation, written tests, and interviews. This study used triangulatoin techniques in data validity, in this study the triangulation used is technical triangulation. Analysis of research data with data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclutions. This study result has shown that the student’s reflective thinking ability in solving simillar problems PISA’s questions based on Surbeck, Han & Moyer, i.e.: 1) reacting 52.82%, 2) elaboration 45.65%, 3) contemplating 54.35%. In the reacting indicator, both students with high and moderate criteria on average have met, while students with low criteria are still lacking. Almost all students are still lacking in the elaboration indicators, only few of them are good. On the indicator of contemplating, students with high criteria are able to meet the indicators, while for students with moderate and low criteria only some are good enough. Most of them weren’t able to meet the reflective thinking skills in solving problems.
