Abstract

Electric power is a basic requirement in carrying out everyday activities of mankind, considering that usually the tools that are often used in daily activities mostly require the consumption of electricity. Sources of electric power can be obtained from a variety of power sources found on this earth, both renewable and non-renewable energy sources. One source of energy that is widely used is water, and water can be obtained easily in rivers or reservoirs. Hydroelectric Power is a generator that uses hydropower as a driving force such as irrigation channels, rivers and waterfalls, using different heights and the amount of flow. In this study, to determine the effect of water discharge on the amount of power output and power efficiency at PLTA Wonogiri, research conducted on hydropower includes: water flow rate and height difference, output energy and efficiency results with reference to discharge. The amount of incoming water discharge greatly influences the output energy of the generator and the energy efficiency of the generator. The results of the analysis in 2019 show that the highest energy efficiency value is unit 1 at 91% and unit 2 at 88%, on the other hand for the lowest efficiency for unit 1 at 76% and unit 2 78%.
