Abstract

Serat Wulangreh is a classic Javanese literary work in the form of poetry of macapat songs in Javanese, written in 1768 - 1820 at the Surakarta Kasunanan Palace. Serat Wulangreh contains the ideal ethical teachings of humans aimed at the royal family, nobility and servants in the Surakarta Palace. Serat Wulangreh consists of 13 pupuhs, namely: Dhandhanggula, Kinanthi, Gambuh, Pangkur, Maskumambang, Megatruh, Durma, Wirangrong, Pucung, Mijil, Asmarandana, Sinom, and Girisa. Each pupuh contains guidance that must be carried out by humanity so that their lives are safe and not fall into the abyss of evil. This study aims to find out: Knowing the content of Islamic education values in Serat Wulangreh pupuh dhandhanggula, knowing the condition of society during King Pakubuwana IV, when writing Serat Wulangreh, and to know the values of Islamic education in Serat Wulangreh pupuh dhandhanggula sourched from al -Qur'an and Hadith. This type of reserch is library research. This research using the content analysis method with the main data source is Serat Wulangreh in Javanese writing in the museum Tamansiswa Dewantara Kirti Griya which was dated 1929, with other data sources as sources supporting data. The results showed that the Wulangreh pupuh dhandanggula fiber content included: (1) Teachings about divinity, including; truth of the Qur'an, rules of worship, and sources of Islamic law. (2) Teachings on social affairs, including: care for fellow creatures and humility. (3) Teachings about morals, including; prohibition of arrogant, always berikhtiyar. (4) Teachings on socio-culture, including; the doctrine of politeness, the important of knowlege, and manners chooses a teacher. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that it will be an information and input material for education observers and can contribute and become a scientific knowledge in fostering the morality of the nation and maintaining the Crichness of local culture that is rich in nobility Keywords: wulangreh; value; Islamic education
