Abstract

This study aims to analyze social institutions in institutional business development as a moderating variable. This research was conducted at the Successful Mulya Sayur Rotonongo Mobile Vegetable Association by using a sample of 40 respondents who were members of the SMSR mobile vegetable association. The sampling method used non probability sampling with saturated sampling and the data used were primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used is multiple linear analysis with three equations and uses several variables, namely the structural dimensions of social capital, the relational dimension of social capital, the cognitive dimensions of social capital, institutional and business development. The results showed that the social structural dimension had a positive and significant effect on business development at the SMSR Association. The relational dimension of social capital has a positive and significant effect on business development at the SMSR Association. The cognitive dimension of social capital has a positive and significant effect on business development at the SMSR Association. Institutions have a positive and significant effect on business development at the SMSR Association. The structural dimension of capital has a positive and significant effect on business development in the institutionally moderated SMSR association. The relational dimension of social capital has a positive and significant effect on business development in the institutionally moderated SMSR association. The cognitive dimension of social capital has a positive and insignificant effect on business development in the institutionally moderated SMSR association. The role of social capital in business development cannot be moderated by the maximum institutional influence in business development which can be seen from the R Square value of regression equation I of 0.574, regression equation II of 0.638 and regression equation III of 0.528, which means the strength of the institution as a weak moderating variable because the value of R Square decreases when compared to R Square without a moderating variable. The result is that institutionalization as a moderating variable is only able to strengthen the structural and relational dimensions of social capital, but it weakens the cognitive dimension of social capital with its insignificant effect in influencing business development in the SMSR association.
