Abstract

family is formed by a male and female in a marriage. Meanwhile, there was a family that torn apart because of divorce or death. Thus left a single parents who have double responsibility. Communication is a process of exchanging and understanding information between two or more people in a group. The purpose of this research is to describe the communication of single parents with their children. This research used qualitative approach. The informants used are three people who have become single parents for approximately two years. The collecting data process in this research used a semi-structured interview. This research used descriptive qualitative data analysis. The results obtained are not all communication between single parents and their children went well
