Abstract

Hotel is one of the important aspects in tourism. This recent phenomenon shows that the hotel business is trying to improve employee performance so that it can compete with other hotel business companies. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between leadership style and work motivation with employee performance of The Alana Hotel. The subjects in this study were 66 employees of The Alana Hotel. This research method uses a quantitative approach, data collection tools use a leadership style scale (14 items; α = 0.668), work motivation scale (19 items; α = 0.836) and employee performance scale (23 items; α = 0.841). The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: 1) there is a very significant relationship between leadership style and work motivation with employee performance. 2) there is a very significant positive relationship between leadership style and employee performance, 3) there is a very significant positive relationship between work motivation and employee performance. The linearity test between variable X1 and variable Y fulfills the distribution of linear data obtained from the value of Fcount = 0.993 and p = 0.482 (p <0.05) at sig linearity. The linearity test between variable X2 and variable Y fulfills the distribution of linear data obtained from the value of Fcount = 1.421 and p = 0.160 (p <0.05) at sig linearity. Major hypothesis testing can be seen from the ANOVA table, namely F 19.583 and Sig 0.000 <0.05, the minor hypothesis test between leadership style and employee performance is indicated by (r) = 0.299 and Sig (1-tailed) 0.007 <0.05 and hypothesis testing minor between work motivation and employee performance is (r) = 0.613 and Sig (1-tailed) 0.000 <0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between leadership style and work motivation with employee performance, there is a relationship between leadership style and employee performance and there is a relationship between work motivation and employee performance, so that the minor and major hypotheses are accepted.
