Abstract
Regional expansion is mostly carried out by local governments in Indonesia with the aim of realizing the effectiveness of local government, accelerating the improvement of community welfare, accelerating the improvement of the quality of public services, and so on as stated in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government. With no exception, Boyolali Regency in Central Java, through Perda No. 18/2018 the expansion of 3 sub-districts was carried out so that they increased to 3 new sub-districts. The division of the region in Boyolali has only been running for 2 years, so the research will only focus on the distribution of public facilities in the fields of education, health and government offices. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with secondary data collection. The method used is a spatial analysis technique using the kernel density tool available in the ArcGIS application. The results showed that the regional expansion in Boyolali Regency was not maximized because there were still many areas where the distribution of general facilities services was still low, especially in the areas resulting from the expansion.
