Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of GDP (Gross Domestic Product), inflation and exchange rates on NPL (Non-Performing Loan) in banking companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) 2017-2019. Samples in this study using purposive sampling method. The sample obtained is 14 companies. The analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis. The results showed that partially, GDP and exchange rates have a negative and significant effect on NPL, while inflation has a positive and significant effect on NPL. The results of the F-test show that simultaneously, GDP, inflation and exchange rates have an effect on NPL. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R2) is known to be 0.827566 (82.7%). This value shows that the variables GDP, inflation and exchange rate are able to explain the variation of the NPL (Non-Performing Loan) variable which is 82.7%. Meanwhile, the remaining 17.3% is explained by other variables outside the independent variables.
