Abstract
Karanganyar Regency is one of the rice producers in Central Java with various regional characteristics. The intensity of development that has an impact on land conversion, especially from agricultural land to developed land, and an increase in the population in Karanganyar Regency will affect food security in Karanganyar Regency. This study aims to analyze the estimated land needs for sustainable food agriculture in 2017-2027 and to determine the causes of changes in the trend of food security in Karanganyar Regency. The method used in this research is quantitative research methods, with secondary data as the main data and descriptive analysis is carried out. Secondary data consists of data on rice food availability (harvested area, production & productivity) and population data. The results of data processing and analysis indicate that overall food security in Karanganyar Regency can still be fulfilled with a food carrying capacity value of 2.17. This means that the community's need for food / food self-sufficiency (rice) in Karanganyar Regency can be fulfilled by the area of existing agricultural land and current production of rice. The need for sustainable agricultural food land (KLP2B) according to the sub-districts in Karanganyar Regency which has the highest KLP2B value is Jaten sub-district, Karanganyar sub-district, Gondangrejo sub-district, and Colomadu district for the next 10 years (2027). The change in the trend in the level of food security in Karanganyar Regency is caused by the rate of population growth. The overall trend of rice production (tonnes) in Karanganyar Regency in 2017-2027 is very varied, however, there is more trend of rice production (tonnes) that has decreased (minus) in each sub-district. Meanwhile, the overall trend of rice consumption needs (tonnes / year) in Karanganyar Regency in 2017-2027 tends to increase (surplus).
