Abstract

Media has a function to fulfill the public's need for information related to government policies for the people. They also have a responsibility to convey this matter in an actual, factual, and equitable. Even so, the media has its own agenda to present the facts of what happened, and matters relating to these facts. They have the capacity to present these facts as they want. This study aims to find out how Kompas.com, as a large media in Indonesia, frames the issue related to the moving of the capital that has been initiated by two different presidents, during different government periods, namely SBY and Jokowi. This study uses the Gamson and Modigliani framing analysis method. The results of this study indicate that Kompas.com in framing the issue of moving the country's capital city, which was initiated by different presidents, namely SBY and Jokowi, shows a different frame. Kompas.com proved to be stand on Jokowi in his idea of moving the capital city.
