Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between democratic leadership style and work motivation with the performance of PT. Jaya Sempurna Sakti, the hypotheses proposed in this study include: 1) there is a relationship between democratic leadership style and work motivation with the performance of employees of PT. Jaya Sempurna Sakti, 2) there is a significant relationship between democratic leadership style and employee performance of PT. Jaya Sempurna Sakti, 3) there is a significant relationship between work motivation and employee performance of PT. Jaya Sempurna Sakti. The population in this study were employees at PT. Jaya Sempurna Sakti as many as 176 employees, with a sample taken of 100 employees. The sampling technique used is proportional stratified sampling, because there are several classes in the population, so that each class is taken; class A as many as 17 samples; class B with 23 samples; and class C with 60 samples. The method used is quantitative with measuring instruments of democratic leadership style scale, work motivation scale and employee performance scale. Data analysis used multiple regression analysis with SPSS 16. Based on the results obtained (R) 0.580. p = 0.000 (p <0.05) so that it means that democratic leadership style and work motivation together have a relationship to employee performance. So that the results of the variable analysis of democratic leadership style and work motivation with employee performance show that the higher the norms of democratic leadership behavior and work motivation of employees, the higher the performance of employees of PT.
