Abstract

The teacher is one of the important components in education who must be responsible for the implementation of the learning process. With the roles and responsibilities of the teacher, it is hoped that there will be no difficulties in learning. However, if there is difficulty in learning, it is hoped that the teacher will make a good strategy so that the learning difficulties experienced by students can be resolved properly as well. In fact, based on the results of the author's interview, it was found that the teacher's strategy for dealing with students with learning difficulties was not optimal. There are still students who have difficulty in learning, especially in terms of reading and understanding the Qur'an and the letters hija'iyah. The research question in this thesis is: What are the factors causing the learning difficulties of seventh grade students in Islamic education subjects at SMP Negeri 2 Miri Sragen? What is the strategy of Islamic Education teachers in dealing with the learning difficulties of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Miri Sragen? This research is a 2 qualitative research. Data was collected by means of interviews, then data analysis was carried out using qualitative methods, namely telling and interpreting the data. Furthermore, the data collected is discussed and conclusions are drawn. The results showed that the PAI teacher's strategy in dealing with learning difficulties in class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Miri Sragen was by personal approach and then the teacher provided guidance through online learning during the Covid 19 pandemic. Factors causing student learning difficulties in PAI subjects At SMP Negeri 2 Miri Sragen there are two internal factors which include: lack of interest and student motivation to learn. And external factors, including: lack of parental guidance, especially in terms of reading and understanding the Al-Qur'an and hija'iyah letters, the lack of family economy, increasingly sophisticated mass media, internet quotas and also the community environment. The teacher's efforts in overcoming student learning difficulties in PAI subjects at SMP Negeri 2 Miri Sragen, namely making observations, direct approaches with students, providing guidance through online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic which was carried out 2 days a week while during the Covid 19 pandemic such as This learning is carried out according to the schedule of Islamic religious education lessons only and the last one is evaluating.
