Abstract
This study aims to determine the influence of variables leadership on employee performance at PDAM Kota Surakarta with the variable job satisfaction as the mediation. This research is a quantitative research, the population in this research is all employees of PDAM Surakarta, while the sample of this study amounted to 126 respondents by sampling random sampling. Based on the results of research influence of leadership on employee performance has positive and significant effect directly. Furthermore, the variables of leadership on job satisfaction have a significant effect directly. For the variable of job satisfaction on employee performance has positive and significant effect directly. while the variables of leadership on employee performance through job satisfaction as a mediating effect is positive and significant indirect leadership on employee job satisfaction, there is a positive relationship of job satisfaction to employee performance, and there is a positive relationship of leadership to employee performance. So it can be calculated the indirect effect of leadership on employee performance through job satisfaction, and the results of the indirect effect is larger than the result of the direct influence of leadership on employee performance.
