Abstract

Water is a renewable energy source that is cheap and relatively easy to obtain, even though the power produced is relatively small, but it is quite reliable in the midst of the need for cheap and environmentally friendly electricity-producing resources. PLTA Wonogiri is located in Wonogiri, Central Java and is part of PT. Indonesia Power UP Mrica. The water source used by the Wonogiri hydropower plant comes from the Gajah Mungkur reservoir. One of the most important components in a power plant is a generator. Generator is a very important component in the electric power system because it plays a role in supplying electrical energy that is needed by the general public, both industry, offices, and household consumers. PLTA Wonogiri has 2 generators with the maximum power generated per unit is 6,2 MW. This generator efficiency analysis is carried out to see whether the generator is still in optimal or less than optimal condition. This efficiency calculation is done by collecting data in the front of power usage and water data in the front of elevation, tail race, and water discarge. The results of the analysis on March 1 - 7 2020 found that the highest average efficiency of the generator occurred when the load was used 6,2 MW at 92,85% and the lowest efficiency occurred when the used load was 3,6 MW at 74,44%. This condition indicates that the generator has good working reliability as a producer of electric power.
