Abstract

The planetary gear system consists of three components, namely the Sun gear, pinion and ring gear. A planetary set can produce various rotations such as increased speed, reduced speed, change of direction, neutral and direct drive. This analysis aims to determine the damage and the factors that cause damage to planetary gear transmission. The inspection procedure of the planetary gear is to perform disassembly, then perform a visual inspection of the planetary gear components and then analyze it to determine the damage. The analysis results show that there is a component of the planetary gear that is damaged (broken) so that it must be replaced and there are several components that must be cleaned with dirt that can interfere with the work of the planetary gear.
