Abstract
Diesel engine maintenance is very important to do in order to maintain the performance of a unit, and to keep the engine from experiencing a decrease in performance. This analysis aims to determine the damage and the factors causing the concentrated color exhaust gas The inspection procedure on the engine includes a visual check and inspection of the components that are positioned at the outermost part of the engine. Checking starts from the turbocharger component then the cylinder head and then performs the engine disassembly to determine the damage that has occurred From the results of analysis and disassembly of the engine mode DE 12 TIA, there is damage to several components such as worn piston rings, piston berets and walls on the inside of the cylinder liner as well as scratches.
