Abstract

Technological developments in the world in 2020 are very fast. This requires every country in the world to create quality human resources. One of them is by increasing character development through IT learning. Therefore, a coding learning educational game with the waterfall method was developed which has features that are easy to use and aims to introduce the concept of coding or programming to students at an early age. Learning coding does not require knowledge of IT or programming itself. Because the game developed uses computational thinking learning methods, by doing this method the material applied in the game is directly related to daily activities. Therefore, the development of this game is carried out with the aim of increasing insight and creating quality human resources through desktop-based coding learning games. From the development of the game, it was found that the coding concept learning game was feasible to use to help teachers and students with blackbox test results with an average of 100% success and the results of the material and media expert validity test with 0.83 material expert test results and the media with 0.85 results measured by Aiken V table that shows that the game is worth using.
