Abstract
Based on the location, Pancasila Square is in a strategic location, it is located in the center of Salatiga. To the west of the square there is a circular path used by the community to pass from Salatiga city to Bawen, Ambarawa and Semarang. To the east of the square there is an arterial road to the city of Salatiga, which is not too far from the main square which connects the city of Salatiga with the cities of Boyolali and Surakarta. To the south of the square there is a road that connects the city of Salatiga with Magelang regency. So, automatically newcomers both from outside and from within the city of Salatiga will also increase and decrease. From this population movement, is there any influence on the mobility actors themselves with workers in the informal sector as street vendors. With the rise of Covid-19, does it have an impact on people who carry out mobility with street vendors selling in the square area. The objectives of this study are: (1) Analyzing the mobility of street vendors in the square area (2) The effect of covid-19 on street vendors and (3) survival strategies for street vendors in the Pancasila square area, Sidomukti Kota District Salatiga. The method chosen in this study is a survey research method using a questionnaire to obtain data. Sampling was 40 respondents from a total population of 54 street vendors. This research uses descriptive analysis and spatial analysis (spatial). There were 17 street vendors from outside the city in the province with a percentage of 42.5% compared to 13 respondents from outside the inner-city sub-districts with a percentage of 32.5%. There were 22 respondents who chose the type of boarding / overnight mobility or 55% more than the shuttle / commuting mobility as many as 18 respondents or 45%. Covid-19 affects the income of street vendors by 60% for food sellers, 56% for beverage sellers, and 54% for services. The survival strategy of street vendors looking for side jobs, traders continue to sell during the pandemic by adhering to health protocols and using the internet as a breakthrough in selling and promoting merchandise online.
