Abstract

Waste is a residue that comes from daily activities carried out by humans; waste consists of household waste and household-like waste. Due to the presence of waste, waste management is carried out. Waste management is an activity that is based on norms, namely The Constitution No. 18 year 2008 concerning Waste Management, no exception for Klaten Regency also has norms related to waste management, namely Local Government Legislation of Klaten Regency No. 6 year 2018 concerning Implementation of Waste Management. Klaten Regency have Implementation Policy of Waste Management, so the Policy Implementation of Waste Management must pay attention to the environment as in The Constitution No. 32 year 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management, and it is necessary to apply the principles of Good Environmental Governance where these principles explain good management that’s cares for the environment. This study used an empirical juridical method, conducted interviews and observations in relation to the implementation of waste management in Klaten Regency. The results show that the implementation policy of waste management in Klaten Regency has been running in accordance with Local Government Legislation of Klaten Regency No. 6 year 2018, The Constitution No. 18 year 2008, The Constitution No. 32 year 2009 and the principles of Good Environmental Governance, but it has not been maximized and there were several obstacles.
