Abstract

The Wonogiri reservoir is a reservoir that has a very important function, especially in Wonogiri Regency and in the Central Java region in general. With the potential for water availability from the inflow of the Bengawan Solo River, the availability of water in the Wonogiri Reservoir is relatively sufficient to meet various community needs, namely as flood control, especially securing the city of Surakarta and its surroundings from flood reduction in the amount of 4000 m3 / s to 400 m3 / s. as a provider of water for irrigation covering an area of ± 28,000 ha covering the areas of Karanganyar, Klaten, Sragen, Solo, Sukoharjo and Wonogiri, for raw water supply to PDAM of 2.5 m3 / s and for industrial water of 2.1 m3 / s, for generators electric power (PLTA) of 40 million kwh / year, and for inland fisheries and tourism around the reservoir for local residents. However, the reality in the field is that the availability of water for irrigation during the dry season is often insufficient. The research was conducted by optimizing the simulation using a solver, so that the maximum analysis results were obtained. Solver is an add-in that is used to solve problems contained in the Microsoft Excel application program. In other words, Solver can deal with problems involving many variable cells and help find a combination of variables to minimize or maximize the value of one target cell. The solver allows for self-defining a limitation or constraint that must be met in order for the problem solving to be considered correct, namely by calculating the water balance by considering irrigation needs and reservoir storage capacity based on daily data for 12 years then the average is taken to make alternative reservoir operating patterns. The best alternative is the k factor value which is close to the maximum cropping pattern. Then used as a guide to determine the water level for operation. The results of this study are the value of the global k factor for 1 year is 0.958. So from these results it can be concluded that the current availability of water in the Wonogiri Reservoir is sufficient to meet irrigation needs. If the operation of the reservoir is optimized by referring to alternative 1 which is the best alternative from the results of the analysis, namely 2 rice and 1 secondary crop, it is estimated that the available water will be sufficient to meet irrigation needs throughout the year.
