Abstract
Each employee's perception of a manager's leadership style will certainly be very different from one another. Lack of employee satisfaction with the manager's leadership style where this style affects the organization and employee turnover. The purpose of this study was to analyze how employees 'perceptions of managerial leadership style, to analyze how managers' leadership styles affect employee performance and to analyze the desired leadership styles of employees. The research method used is qualitative analysis research, where the researcher analyzes the understanding of employees' perceptions of the manager's leadership style at PT steelindo wahana perkasa belitung by conducting deep interviews with 8 informants, using a voice recorder, camera, writing instruments and review documentation . The results of research where employees perceive leadership style as behavior that has self-integrity (responsible, problem solving, wise), work belief (according to procedures and rules), problem solving (responsiveness, direct communication) and good emotional skills such as understanding, not Rough. The manager's leadership style has a positive effect on employee performance, which is shown by achieving targets, motivated employees and appropriate tasks and functions. Managers who listen to complaints, are open and understanding are managers who want employees. Therefore, the manager's leadership style is democratic and transactional. Suggestions from the research are to maintain the current leadership style by staying firm, plunging in spaciousness, being fair and giving rewards.
