Abstract

Physical changes experienced by adolescents are sometimes considered less than ideal, which encourages them to do various ways to make their physical appearance ideal. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of knowing the relationship between thanksgiving and physical image in adolescents. The population in this study were students of class XI at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Ukhuwah totaling 400 students. The sample used was 136 students at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Ukhuwah. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criteria of Al-Ukhuwah Sukoharjo Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students who were included in the category of adolescents aged 15-17 years where at that age there were physical changes in adolescents and had an impact on self-image in adolescents. The data collection method used in this study was a linkert scale consisting of a Thanksgiving scale and a physical image scale. The validity test in this study uses expert judgment. While the data analysis techniques in this study using the Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis technique. The results of this study found that there is a relationship between gratitude and physical image in adolescents at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Ukhuwah Sukoharjo. These results indicate that the relationship between thanksgiving and physical image is included in a positive relationship with the weak category, this means that if the higher the value of gratitude, the higher the value of the body image, and vice versa, the lower the value of gratitude, the lower the value of the physical image.
