Abstract
This study aims to describe the ability of student’s mathematics education in planning the learning media on microteaching course. The ability of student’s mathematics education in planning the learning media include an understanding of the media characteristics, selection an appropriate of the learning media, preparation or creation of the learning media, mastery in using the learning media, and the evaluation in planning the learning media. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with the subject of student’s mathematics education research of 6 semester in year of 2019/2020. Data collection techniques used by angket or kuisoner, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data using the triangulation technique. Data analysis techniques are performed through data reduction, data presentation, verification or deducation. Research shows that the student's ability in planning the learning media is already fulfilled, which includes: (1) The students' understanding of media characteristics is shown by describing understanding, characteristics, and media classification. (2) The students are able to select a learning media that is consistent with adjusting the media and RPP components such as the learning materials to become a learning media. (3) The students are able to prepare or create learning media by modifying and designing materials in the form of learning media that learners can readily understand. (4) The students have the ability to master the use of the learning media, seen from good preparation to minimize mistakes and statements of importance involving active participation of learners. (5) The students are able to evaluate the planning of the learning media by making questions about the learning media meet the purpose of learning, the effectiveness of learning media, and the timing of the presentation.
