Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of life for unmarried early adult women. The method used to determine the meaning of life of unmarried early adult women in this study is a qualitative method. The data in this study were obtained by researchers through the interview method. Interviews were conducted with selected informants using purposive sampling technique with the criteria of adult women aged early adulthood (21-40 years) and unmarried. Furthermore, the data analysis techniques used in this study were qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the three informants, namely SP, SL and DAK, each had experienced tragic experiences that caused trauma to build a relationship. Apart from that, based on the results of the research, it was also known that some informants also felt hopeless and kept thinking about the events they were facing, so they preferred to postpone the marriage. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the self-acceptance stage of the three informants was carried out trying to accept the current conditions experienced, as well as trying to establish attitudes such as getting closer to God, reducing self-egoism, and trying to open up to the opposite sex. Then the stage of discovering the natural meaning of life of the informants was marked by a positive attitude, being grateful and accepting what happened, as well as being committed and more selective in choosing the opposite sex. Furthermore, the meaning realization stage carried out by the three informants was carried out through positive activities such as following religious studies, reading articles related to marriage and self, and trying to share experiences with married friends regarding family dynamics. Then the meaningful life stage experienced by the informant was marked by the presence of happiness, confidence in opening your heart and feeling peace.
