Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristics of the urgency pf the role of accounting in households in Pucungan Village. This research is a type of qualitative research with an ethographic design. The data analysis technique used data analysis on the site, where the researcher determines the informants, conducts interviews, asks questions, analyze data and determines cultural themes. To ensure data validity of the data using source triangulation. The results showed that accounting practices carried out by housewives were used to help control household finance, both in income and expenditure. Accounting practices applied by housewives are in the form of financial recording and financial budgeting. The preparation of a financial budget is made based on a priority scale between needs and wants, while the financial recording used is cash-based financial recording with recording media such as notebooks, small memo, handphone, and computer through the Microsoft Excel program.
