Abstract
Gasification is a thermochemical process at high temperatures between biomass and gasification agent by stoichiometric combustion to produce syngas. In gasification, byproducts are also produced, such as ash, tar, charcoal particles, and hydrocarbons. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature on the syngas composition produced. The simulation method design modeling used was a gasifier reactor with a 400 mm diameter and a height of 3800 mm. The fuel used was wood pellets measuring 8 mm to 20 mm. This study used three temperature variations in the gasifier, namely 600, 800 ℃, and 1000 ℃. The method used in this study was the CPFD Bubbling Fluidized Bed Gasifier simulation method using the Barracuda Virtual Reactor 17.1 software and the Solidwork 2018 software. The results show that increasing the temperature value can increase the resulting syngas composition. The highest syngas composition results occur at a temperature of 1000 ℃, and the lowest syngas composition occurs at a temperature of 600 ℃. The reason is that high temperatures will cause the fuel to react more quickly. Keywords: Gasification, bubbling fluidized bed, gasifier, temperature, simulation, syngas, gas composition
