Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of interest in learning and the role of parents on the readiness to become a teacher. This type of research is quantitative research with an associative approach. The population in the study was the 2015 Accounting Education Students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, amounting to 229 students, with a sample of 135 students using simple random sampling techniques. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire method, with data analysis techniques using prerequisite test analysis with normality test, linearity and multicollinearity test and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression, t test, F test, coefficient of determination (R2), effective contribution and relative contribution . The results showed that there was an influence and significant between the variables of Interest in Learning (X1) and the Role of Parents (X2) on the Readiness to Become a Teacher (Y) as evidenced by the calculation of R2 obtained by 86.2% consisting of Interest in Learning by 39.5% and Role of People age 46.7% and the remaining 13.8% influenced by other variables outside this study.
