Abstract
Hypoalbuminemia will cause disruption of the physiological processes in the body, especially in patients who suffer from severe pain, and thus interfere with or inhibit the healing and recovery process. Low levels of albumin will result in impaired alkaline acid (alkalosis). So albumin is used as a therapy in the condition of hypoalbuminemia. Albumin is an expensive drug that is associated with an increase in therapeutic costs. The administration of pure snakehead fish extract is expected to have equal effectiveness and lower cost compared to human albumin 20% This research was conducted with the design of cross sectional study, which is to gather the data prospectively and then analyzed how the patient outcomes quantitatively with the clinical response that occurs after administration of human albumin 20% and pure snakehead fish albumin extract in patients with Hypoalbuminemia during September 2018-November 2018. Conducted analysis of effectiveness and cost to see the difference in effectiveness and cost of both types of therapy. Overview of direct medical expenses in patients receiving albumin therapy in inpatient installations of Dr. Moewardi for patients who use 20% human albumin amounting to Rp 15,336,716.55 ± 2,254,393.875 and for patients who use pure snakehead fish albumin extract of Rp 10,042,531.10 ± 2,258,404.37 per episode inpatient. The most cost-effective therapeutic alternative to human albumin use of 20% is the administration of 1 flash human albumin 20% with the treatment period of 6 – 10 days with the value of ACER 3,493,115.21. As for the group of patients who get pure snakehead fish albumin extract, the most cost-effective treatment is the administration of the pure snakehead fish albumin extract three times a day with a long 6-10 day care with the value of ACER 1,836,744.18. There is no difference in the effectiveness of the use of human albumin 20% and pure cork fish extract (p > 0.05) in inpatient of dr. Moewardi hospital.
