Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has not prevented students from helping others. Even though they themselves experience difficulties, they still provide assistance to other communities who are also experiencing difficulties. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between empathy and prosocial behavior in students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were students aged 18-24 years. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. This type of research is quantitative research with data aids using an empathy scale and a scale of prosocial behavior. The data analysis used is the technique of maintaining Pearson's product moment. The results of data analysis showed that empathy with prosocial behavior was rxy = 0.607 with p = 0.000 (p <0.01), which means that there was a very significant positive relationship between empathy and prosocial behavior in students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The higher the empathy one has, the higher the prosocial behavior.
