Abstract
The increase in population which has an impact on the development of the city of Surakarta tends to increase and the growth of the city which tends to be centered in the southern region, resulting in regional disparities which results in a lack of distribution of green open spaces. The purpose of this study is to determine the distribution of green open spaces in the city of Surakarta, identify the availability of green open spaces, and analyze the suitability between the availability of green open spaces and the RTRW of Surakarta. This research uses image interpretation analysis method, spaslal analysis, and overlay. Image interpretation is used to determine the distribution of green open space accompanied by field validation, spatial analysis to determine the comparison between availability and the need for green open space, while the overlay is to determine the suitability of RTH and RTRW in Surakarta. The results of this study are in the form of a green open space which consists of 16 green open space components spread across the city of Surakarta, namely in 5 districts including Banjarsari, Jebres, Laweyan, Pasar Kliwon, and Serengan, which are dominated by agricultural land. The results of the availability of the Green Teibuka Room in the city of Surakarta are 515,381 ha or 11.70%, while the required public RTH is 880.8 ha or 20% of the total area. The results of RTH suitability recorded in the RTRW have met the basic requirements of the minimum need for green open space in the Surakarta City area, but the results of calculations based on RTH data related to calculated data, the RTH of Surakarta City has not complied with the provisions set out in the RTRW for Surakarta City As the growing population impacts development in Surakarta City tends to increase as well as cities tend to advance south, but it also causes a lack of green spaces that will reduce city problem. So the existence of green open space is crucial to offset the magnitude of continuous development. The study aims to know where the collections of green open space in the City of Surakarta identify the availability of green open space, and analyze the agreement between the availabitily of green open space and the Surakarta City RTRW.
