Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the violence that occurs in dating. The method used is descriptive qualitative research. This study used four individuals who had experienced violence in dating for at least 6 months. Data collection was carried out using interviews with male and female subjects. The results of this study indicate that violence often occurs in physical and verbal forms even though there are other forms of violence that occur, such as in economic and social situations. Physical violence such as slapping, hitting and causing scars, while verbally using harsh words. Economic violence occurs when you have to buy everything you need during dating and socially restricted friendships. Violence occurs because of poor communication, jealousy, excessive desire to possess and lack of resistance during violence. Violence that occurs to men is more quickly realized than women because women sometimes still think that it is a form of affection for their partners.
