Abstract

The population growth, which is increasing swiftly every year, is one reason for the government's program to increase vasectomy contraceptive users by forming the Paguyuban Prio Utomo. This study discusses the process of adopting the vasectomy innovation in the community of Sampetan Village, Ampel district, Boyolali Regency. This study used qualitative research to explain the phenomena in the Sampetan Village community towards in-depth innovation through the data obtained. This study used primary data in the form of non-participant observation and in-depth interviews and secondary data in the form of documents and documentation. In collecting the data, this research used an in-depth interview technique with the Snowball sampling technique. Furthermore, in ensuring the validity of the data, the researcher used source calculations. The result of this research is that some people in Sampetan Village can accept innovation, and some reject innovation. Interpersonal communication and group communication play an essential role in introducing innovation to vasectomy adoption through regular discussions and meetings. In addition to the knowledge factor, a wife's important role also determines a husband's decision to become an adopter.
