Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a grievous disaster for all inhabitants of the earth. All segments of human life on earth are disturbed, without exception of education. Less optimal learning process during a pandemic is due to poor teachers in applying learning methods. This study aims to describe the use of audio-visual learning media and its effectiveness in Fiqh subjects during the Covid-19 period at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta. The data sources in this study consisted of primary sources in the form of school principal data, while secondary data were the results of observations, interviews, and documentation at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta. The data collection technique in this research was carried out by using the method of observation, interviews, and direct documentation at the research location. The data analysis technique used in this study used the Miles and Huberman analysis method so that it could be seen the effectiveness of using audio-visual media in the learning process of Islamic Civilization History subjects during the pandemic period of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta. The results showed that the development of the method carried out in Islamic Islamic Studies learning did not go through the renewal of the steps, but the method development was carried out by adding to the use of audio-visual media in the form of video playback and displaying PowerPoint slides during the learning activities. Thus, this media can make it easier for teachers to deliver subject matter and students also more easily understand the material being taught and can put it into practice well.
