Abstract
The purpose of this research is to produce a design, a rice weeder and a budget for realizing this tool in accordance with the wishes of farmers and workers in the village of Baran Nguter Sukoharjo who are members of the "Makmur" farmer group. Rice Weeder Design Method Using the Rational method. That is, a design method by introducing a sensible procedure into the design process. The stages of this planning are (1). Clarification of Purpose (2). Function Assignment. (3). Determination of Specifications. (4). Determination of Technical Characteristics. (5). Alternative Generation. (6). Alternative Evaluation. (7). Product Improvement. As well as analysis of the output results. From the design made using the Rational method of a machine that has been designed this tool is able to complete wet rice fields with a time of 0.0587 ha / hour or 17 hours / ha. This is determined by several factors, namely the operator and field conditions. To produce a rice weeder, the cost of direct raw materials used is Rp. 4,687,800 and the total cost so that the total cost for the manufacture of this tool is Rp. 5,500,000 so the profit is Rp. 812,200 per unit.
