Abstract

Abstrak Low Birth Weight (LBW) is the highest contributor to neonatal mortality. Low Birth Weight (LBW) has a 20 times higher risk of infant mortality than babies who were born with normal weight. The length of the treatment can affect the baby's body weight Low Birth Weight (LBW). This study aimed to determine the correlation between length of treatment and changes in low birth weight infants in the Perinatology ward of RSUD Ir.Soekarno Sukoharjo. This study was an analytic observational study, with Cross Sectional design. Using secondary data obtained from medical record installations. The study was conducted in September 2020. The sample size was 25 Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies. The sample data were obtained from the medical records of infants with low birth weight (LBW), the length of days of hospitalization was taken from the time the baby was hospitalized to discharge from the hospital, while changes in body weight were weighed at birth and when the baby was discharged from the hospital using a baby scale. Data processing uses the test Rank Spearman to determine the correlation between the two variables. The results showed that there was a correlation between length of treatment and changes in body weight (P = 0.000 and OR = 0.653). There was a correlation between length of treatment and changes in body weight for Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies in the perinatology room of RSUD Ir.Soekarno Sukoharjo Keywords: changes in body weight, lbw, length of treatment.
