Abstract
The design of the butyl acetate factory with an area of 20,000 m2 is planned to be built in 2014 at the Gresik industrial site, Gresik Regency, East Java Province. This factory operates with a capacity of 13,150 tons/year, with the consideration that it can meet domestic needs and reduce dependence on imports. The raw materials used are acetic acid and butanol using sulfuric acid as a catalyst. The reaction took place exothermic using a batch reactor with a pressure of 1 atm and a temperature of 100ºC. To support the production process, a support unit was established, namely a water supply unit of 4,833.7958 kilogram/hour. Electricity needs were obtained from PLN and a generator set of 1000 kW as backup, as much as 0.1704 m3/hour of fuel. From the economic analysis carried out on this factory with a fixed capital of Rp. 127,155,732,065.73 and working capital of Rp. 28,024,800,235.10. From the economic analysis of this factory, it shows that the profit before tax is Rp. 32,516,273,309.14 per year after 30% tax deduction, the profit reaches Rp. 22,761,391,316.40 per year. Return On Investment (ROI) before tax is 25.57% and after tax is 17.90%. Pay Out Time (POT) before tax is 2.81 years and after tax 3.58 years. Break Even Point (BEP) of 42.62% and Shut Down Point (SDP) of 20.81%. From the feasibility analysis data above, it can be concluded that this factory is profitable and feasible to build.
